Homework
Tic-Tac-Toe Sheet
Homework is assigned every Friday in the form of a Tic-Tac-Toe sheet. It is expected to be signed and returned by the following Friday. All students were also provided with an orange homework folder. In the first grade we want to start to teach our students about being responsible for their school work and using a folder to hold important papers is a great way to start. If your child does not have a folder please contact your child's teacher.

Read and Response Sheet
Each evening your child should be bringing home the current book he or she is reading in their SFA reading class. Please have your child read the story to you, review the green and red words on the inside cover of the story. The green words are words that your child can sound out. The red words are sight words that do not follow the rules of phonics, but are frequently used in the story. Please sign the attached read and response sheet so your child can return it to school the next day. The books are also used in class, so it is important that they are returned each day.
